Do you subcontract your services?
Absolutely not. All Caregivers for Touched By An Angel Senior Care are employees. Each and every Caregiver is interviewed, trained and thoroughly screened with extensive background checks, and must be cleared through ACHA (Florida Agency for Health Care Administration). They are fully insured, bonded, and certified.
How do you choose your Caregivers?
We choose our Caregivers very carefully, through a rigorous and thorough process. We understand it’s not easy to let a stranger into your home that’s why we make it a priority to make sure that the Caregiver we send into your home wecan also trust in our very own home. Each Candidate is carefully screened, with criminal background (national and statewide) along with motor vehicle recordschecked. We also review and verify that a candidate’s certification status iscurrent and in good standing in the AHCA database. All candidates must speak, read and write in English, and must have U.S. work authorization. Drug screening, medical physical and TB screenings are also required.
We check and verify all professional and personal references. Each Caregiver must have industry experience. We also look for important traits in our Caregivers such as honesty, integrity, work ethics, dependability, compassion and if they express a genuine heart towards caring for and improving the lives of our cherished seniors. We don’t hire anyone who is “just looking for a job”, we hire those looking to make a difference in the lives of those they care for.
How do you match up Caregivers and clients?
It is our commitment to insure that your loved one is carefully matched with the perfect caregiver. Matching Caregivers to clients is critical to a having a happy client. Before we assign a Caregiver, we start off by doing an in home assessment of your loved one’s personal needs, likes, dislikes, preferences, interest, hobbies, activities and custom needs. Next, we create a Customized Care Plan to Caregiver system which allows us to personally consider your loved one’s expectations.
Do I have a choice in selection process of the Caregiver?
Yes, we encourage your involvement in the selection process. With our Customized Care Plan to Caregiver system we help eliminate the stress out of matching the right Caregiver with your family. We want you to be satisfied and will always do our best to accommodate you with any changes in Caregivers you may have (as allowed by law).
Will my family always have the same Caregiver?
Our goal is ensure continuity of care by the same Caregiver to establish long term relationships between our Caregivers and clients. Having trust with the Caregiver is vital to a successful home care experience. In some cases your loved one may need help for many hours in a day or have schedule changes throughout the week and may need more than one Caregiver, you can rest assure that our goal is still the same to make sure your loved one is happy.
Are your Caregivers supervised?
Yes, all of Touched By An Angel Senior Care’s Caregivers are supervised on a regular basis. We communicate daily with our Caregivers at the start and end of each shift. On the first day of service to the client’s home, a coordinator will accompany the Caregiver for introduction, to answer any questions, provide oversight and to make sure the client is comfortable. We also follow up weekly by phone or in person with our clients and families to make sure they are happy with their Caregiver.
Can I change or discontinue service my loved one needs?
We understand that situations and circumstances may change at any time, that’s why we are flexible as possible to your loved one’s care. You can change the frequency or types of services your loved one receives at any time at your discretion without any long term contract hassles.
Is My information confidential?
We adhere to all Federal and State guidelines related to personal and healthcare information. We make sure that all our staff are HIPAA compliant. The written service agreement stipulates the exact restrictions on the use of your personal information, which clarifies that even unauthorized individuals will not be given access to information without a client’s – or legally authorized representative’s – formal consent. This also applies to the family room portal.
Your information is never sold to a third party under any circumstances. Only the office personnel and caregivers who are directly involved in your services will have access to information related to the care of your loved one.
How do I pay for home care services?
You or (an authorized representative) will be invoiced weekly after completion of services. All invoices may be paid conveniently online by check or credit card without any additional fees.
Why not just hire a home care employee myself?
Finding the right home caregiver is not an easy task and can be overwhelming. We know the obstacles you face, having to find the “right” person who is trained and competent in caring for your loved. Also, there are the background checks, verifying references, making sure all certifications are up to date, monitoring the caregiver’s work, covering sick days, are just a few of some of the required responsibilities. A professional home care agency eliminates these burdens that can be emotionally and physically draining, by making it a less complicated process for you and your family.
